My Background
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with almost 25 years of experience helping people with various problems from all types of backgrounds. As an interactive and solution focused therapist, my therapeutic approach is to provide clients with practical feedback and support to use the wisdom of their body, mind, and spirit to help them effectively address the personal challenges in their lives.

My work is guided by my belief that there are many paths to healing and everyone has the potential to be healthy and happy.
I also believe that our relationship with nature can be a resource for us. Nature can be a mirror for all of the different parts of us, and can provide a map towards our wholeness. Nature reflects the miracles and magic that lives around us, within us, and I believe is us. Collaborating with the natural world can be restorative and transformative.
I am committed to helping others recognize, develop, and use their strengths to the fullest potential and attain the personal growth that they desire.
I believe that by embracing our beautiful messiness as humans, understanding our amazing nervous systems, we can learn ways to shift the self-limiting stories or beliefs that have shaped us and no longer serve us.
I began working as a therapist while a graduate student at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and I have worked for a variety of non-profit agencies in New York City. I have provided long-term and short-term counseling in English and Spanish to people who have experienced depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, work/career issues, chronic illnesses, and relationship problems. I have provided counseling in a variety of settings, including a community mental health clinic and a mobile medical unit program.
I served as the Director of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Breast Care Helpline at CancerCare. This role gave me the opportunity to work on a national level with breast cancer clients and their loved ones as they coped with the psychological, social, and practical aspects of breast cancer.
Additionally, I was an EAP consultant at Employee Assistance Program (EAP) company in New York City where I provided assessments, crisis intervention, and short-term counseling to voluntary and mandated employees of various Fortune 100 companies, privately held businesses, and organizations and their family members. During my tenure there, I helped employees and their families with issues that interfered with the satisfaction in their professional and personal lives.
I am passionate about expanding my skills as a therapist and I am committed to life-long learning. I regularly attend trainings to stay up to date on research and use evidence-based techniques in my practice. I have attended the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy for additional training in treating depression and anxiety. I am certified in Trial-Based Cognitive therapy. Most recently, I have completed trainings in Therapeutic Nature-Based Interventions and a 9-month Somatic-Soul Based Trauma course with the Somatic Wilderness Therapy Institute in Boulder, CO.
